Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Our Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will mainly be responsible for:

  • Provide support by maintaining a visible presence on the operating floors, performing site visits at least once per week per location. Coordinate visits with site leaders.
  • Coach and mentor employees to ensure all safety expectations are understood and met.
  • Regularly audit facilities for food and life safety compliance and hazard identification.
  • Coach, Mentor and implement RGL's EH&S programs.
  • Maintain all OSHA required records and reports.
  • Coordinate completion of all safety requirements such as Hearing Conservation, industrial hygiene surveys, CPR/First Aid, etc.
  • Lead safety and wellness ambassadors and empower members to develop and obtain specific safety goals and objectives.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation, all employee safety training, and ensure all required documentation concerning food or life safety is completed.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
  • Any other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline. Safety certification preferred.
  • Occupational Health and Safety 1910 knowledge; OSHA 30 Training preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience developing and implementing safety initiatives in manufacturing or warehousing environment.
  • Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Proven organization skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
